@ [At] describe themselves as “hyperfolk.” The band is composed of two members: Victoria Rose and Stone Filipczak. They’re based in Maryland but they initially began as a COVID quarantine era online-connected duo. Their debut album, “Mind Palace Music” explores themes of unrequited love, fast friendship, and raw self-awareness. On their newalbum “Autosmile”, the band’s first with the legendary indie label 4AD, @ have harnessed theirunique process to reimagine the psychedelic folk tradition as an undeniably contemporary artform. @ are a coalition, a team, a two-headed cat, and their collaboration has led them, onceagain, to fascinating and timeless results.
